State Rep. Costello Message of Thanks
November 20, 2011 - State Rep. Costello Newsletter
It's hard to believe, but Thanksgiving, Christmas and the Holidays
are right around the corner. I’d like to take this opportunity to not
only wish all of you a "Happy Thanksgiving!" but to also suggest we
give special thanks for all of the blessings we have each received
this year.
Although all of us have much to be thankful for, many of our
neighbors have not been as fortunate this year. We each have
family, friends and neighbors who don't have jobs. Some have lost
hope. We may not be able to provide a job, but we can do small
acts of kindness that offer hope! I ask that each of us take a few
minutes this Holiday Season to give back to our community and
help those in need. Especially those across the street or in the next
pew. We can do something as simple as taking a few cans to the
food bank, or driving an elderly neighbor to the store. Although it
may seem small, it can make a huge difference in the life of
someone who has lost hope.
November 26th is Small Business Saturday. I encourage you to
support your friends, neighbors, and community by doing most of
your Christmas and Holiday shopping at a locally-owned store.
And I hope to see you at the Jaycee's Annual Christmas Parade in
DeLand on Dec 3rd and the "HOme for the HOlidays" Christmas
Parade in Ormond Beach on December 11th.
While reflecting back on special times spent with family and
friends, let's also work to create what will become cherished
memories of times when we helped a friend or neighbor in need. I
pray your Thanksgiving will be filled with blessings of good health
and good will for all!
Godspeed!
